(I think I will keep my old nicknames private, they belong to those eras, and allow the group to invent a new one for this occasion.)

I graduated from HSU in '83 with a BS in Fisheries. That summer I entered the Peace Corps bound for Fiji. In Fiji I work as a Fisheries Extension Officer and as an Animal Health Technician. Afterwards, I was hired by NMFS and worked under Ben Myer. I was a traveling adventuresome fool and stayed for 10 years. Ben made that possible. When I decided enough was enough, I then set my sites on inland fisheries and joined the California Department of Water Resources working at UCD Hydro Lab, the Delta, and on the Feather River. Currently I'm in the Aquatic Restoration Planning and Implementation Section with our focus on the Yolo Bypass. My primary responsibilities are the sampling and tracking of fish in the Bypass and on the Feather River.

My preferred method of sampling or fishing is pyrotechnics. Even though it is an approved and valuable method, I have been met with skepticism. The only real fishing I did was when I went to sea with NMFS. I now piddle around on party boats and with a fly rod. My last great catch was a large pregnant Gambusia.

Sorry, I don't have a digital fishing picture. I'm the one with the beard.
